Effective July 24, 2009, the minimum wage rate in Florida is $7.25 per hour (effective January 1, 2009 and before July 24, 2009, the minimum wage rate in Florida is $7.21 per hour and $6.79 per hour for 2008).

Local governments in Florida cannot require employers to pay a minimum wage other than the federal minimum wage. This law does not affect local living wages or minimum wage rates that are already in effect.

Effective January 1, 2007, employers are required to post a state minimum wage notice.
