If you are a domestic corporation (organized in Alaska) or a foreign corporation (organized in a state other than Alaska, including a limited liability company (LLC)), you are required to file articles of incorporation, an application for a certificate of authority, and any amendatory articles with the Department of Commerce and Economic Development. (This doesn't apply if you're a nonprofit corporation.) The filing fees are established by, and payable to, the Department of Commerce and Economic Development.

Licenses and fees. Alaska requires that you obtain a license and pay a fee if you are operating virtually any type of businesses in the state. Be sure to check with the state to make sure you are complying with the license requirements for your particular profession. Business licenses normally cost $100 and expire biennially.
